What is the Vermouth Route of Reus?

We will beging our Vermouth Route of Reus by first visiting the Oenology Station, a beautiful nineteenth-century modernist building that was once an important center for research and training in oenology and viticulture. Inside is the Vermouth and Wine Interpretation Center, which will contextualize the origins of the city’s wine industry and its period of splendor.

Afterwards, as we stroll through the city enjoying the modernist facades made by the disciples of the illustrious citizen Antoni Gaudí, we will arrive at Prim Plaza. There, we will learn about the history of the famous phrase Reus, París, London, which dates back to the eighteenth century when the three cities and their markets set the price of spirits around the world. We will also learn about the history of the fabulous houses built by the wealthy families of the Reus bourgeoisie with the fortunes they amassed thanks to the worldwide wine trade.

From the Casa Boule, former property and warehouse of vermouths and wines, we will head towards the vermouth factory, now converted into a restaurant: Vermuts Rofes. We will visit its impressive cellar full of huge oak barrels and foudres. There we will taste their vermouth.

We will finish our visit at the Vermouth Museum, a vermouth restaurant that houses some 6,000 objects related to this typical drink. The owner has been collecting all these objects throughout his life as he is a great lover of this wine macerated with herbs. There we will taste the renowned Cori vermouth.

Come and enjoy a fantastic route!
