Route Greenway from Bot to La Fontcalda
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

We will start our Vins i Camins<\/strong> route in the DO Terra Alta<\/strong>, specifically in Bot. We will follow the old railway line of the Zaf\u00e1n Valley<\/strong>, currently converted into a comfortable footpath that forms part of the greenway Via Verde del Val de Zaf\u00e1n<\/strong>.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the route, we will enjoy a visit that includes wine tasting and snacks at the Cal Menescal<\/strong><\/a> winery in Bot.<\/p>\n

00′. <\/strong><\/span>We start the route of the V\u00eda Verde of Bot<\/strong> at the church of Sant Blai<\/strong>. We head south and quickly reach the old Bot station<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5′. <\/strong><\/span>We are already walking along the old railway line. We head towards Prat del Compte station.<\/p>\n

25′. <\/strong><\/span>We go through the first tunnel. We recommend that you take torches or a headlamp for greater comfort, as there are several tunnels along the route, one of which is more than 700 metres long and curved.<\/p>\n

45′. <\/strong><\/span>We arrive at the old train station of Prat del Compt<\/strong>e. Here we take the road that starts behind the station building until we get close to Mas del Navarro<\/strong>, where we leave the road to take a footpath on the right.<\/p>\n

55′.<\/span> <\/strong>In a few minutes, we reach a natural pool and the Estrets<\/strong>, where the Canaletas river<\/strong> makes its way through a spectacular strait. At the Fountain of Los Chorros,<\/strong> the water gushes out at a temperature of 28\u00baC, ideal for bathing at any time of the year.<\/p>\n

1h.<\/strong><\/span> We arrive at the Sanctuary of Mare de D\u00e9u de la Fontcalda<\/strong> (14th century). We enjoy lunch in the recreational area.<\/p>\n

1h 30′. <\/strong><\/span>We leave the sanctuary by crossing the Canaletas river. We then climb steeply up the path until we find the V\u00eda Verde<\/strong> again. We enter through a tunnel and walk amidst the gloom until we are back again at the station of Prat de Compte.<\/p>\n

1h 50′. <\/strong><\/span>From the station, we follow the same road we used on the way out. However, we must be careful. Just at the exit of the third tunnel, on the left-hand side, we have to take a somewhat confusing footpath to the south.<\/p>\n

2h 15′. <\/strong><\/span>The footpath will take us to the Forat de la Donzella<\/strong>. We will continue along a track and approach the Hermitage of Sant Josep<\/strong>. From the hermitage, we will follow the tracks and paths to the village of Bot.<\/p>\n

3h. <\/strong><\/span>We finally arrive at the old Bot station<\/strong>. We then head to the Cal Menescal<\/strong><\/a> winery for a visit and a tasting of its wines and vinegars.<\/p>\n
