Beer, wine and oil tastings in Horta de Sant Joan

We will do a triple somersault by taking part in a wine tasting at the Vinyes del Convent winery, a tasting of craft beers at EbreWine, and lastly, a tasting of extra virgin olive oil at Identitat Olive Oil.

You can carry out the triple tasting at your own pace, whether it be all in a single weekend or on different days… we give you ideas, you make the rules. 🍺 🍷

What is the triple tasting?

Our proposal is a tour across the region of Terra Alta through these three experiencies.

We can start by visiting Les Vinyes del Convent, a winery located in an area with outstanding views of the nearby village of Horta de Sant Joan as well as of the Els Ports Natural Park.  During the visit you will get to discover the project of the Gil family. 🍷

You will be welcomed at the cloister, where the tour will begin just outside of the winery’s facilities. Shortly after, you will move to its interior, where you will find the wine-making and aging room, and then walk through the museum before finally carrying out a wine tasting prepared according to your stated preferences.

The next stop of the triple tasting is just 5 minutes from the winery: EbreWine, a family project allowing you to enjoy elaborating your own beer and tasting authentic craft beer while taking in the iconic views of the Roques de Benet. 🍺  🍻

Access to the brewery is free, and you can taste the craft beers in their factory on in their own forest. 🌳🌳 If you are passionate about it, we suggest visiting the workshop or even participating in a beer and local food pairing.

Children will have a great time discovering different aromas and textures in the sensory workshops, and those who dare may take part in a craft beer brewing course. As you can see, there are activities for everyone. 🍻

And the last part of the triple tasting will take place at Identitat Olive Oil. We will learn how organically grown single-varietal oils of the Arbequina, Picual and Empeltre varieties are produced.

During the visit you will be able to walk across their spectacular estates with centenary olive trees. Afterwards, we will go to the historic center of Horta de Sant Joan to visit the oil mill. There, our host Toni will explain the process of elaboration oil in the old family house dating back to the thirteenth century.

In addition, you can sponsor an olive tree of the Empeltre variety and receive 12 half-litre bottles of organic extra virgin olive oil at the beginning of the year.
