The Bellmunt Mines Museum
The Bellmunt Mines Museum opened its doors in 2002 with the aim of recovering and preserving the memory and heritage elements related to mining activity in the Priorat region.
The building is located in the old industrial complex of the Eugènia Mine, almost on the edge of the urban center. Since its creation, this space has been part of the Territorial System of the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia.
The Eugènia Mine
The Eugènia mine became the most important lead mine in Catalonia. It has a total of 20 underground levels.
The complex extends far beyond the underground galleries. Its facilities include the power plant, the washing plant, the carpentry, the mechanical workshop, the compressor room, and the engine room.
During the guided tour, you can delve into the mining tunnels located on the first floor of the Eugènia mine, 35 meters underground.
This excursion, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, consists of a journey through about 700 meters of different internal galleries.
