We will make a small route from the Can Marlés winery to the church of Sant Miquel and the remains of Montmell Castle.

In the cellar we will make a guided visit with wine tasting and a full breakfast. We can also feed the herd of alpacas and know their history and their contribution to making the winery sustainable.

After gaining strength, we will take a path that climbs and with spectacular views will take us to the roof of the Baix Penedès, passing through the new church of Sant Miquel, the old church and finally we will reach the ruins of Montmell castle.

00:50h. The track becomes a path and in less than an hour we arrive at the new church of Sant Miquel (16th century).

The castle
It is the highest located of all the Penedès. It is documented before the year 1000 and guarded the border of the so-called Hispanic Mark with the territory dominated by the Saracens. Initially a tower of about 10 meters high was built and later the walled area that closed the enclosure. It also had a small chapel with mural paintings.
